Southern Illinois Stone has an opening for Maintenance Manager.  Responsibilities including overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance and supervision of the mobile and plant equipment; implementing maintenance practices ensuring highest level of efficiency and performance; identifying and implementing the best practices in preventive and predictive maintenance.

Required qualifications include a minimum of 5 years experience in surface mining mobile and plant equipment maintenance; knowledge of MSHA requirements; extensive knowledge of heavy industrial maintenance, welding and cutting techniques, fabrication and large equipment repair; strong commitment to safety and the ability to budget, forecast and oversee maintenance costs of >$1M.  Successful candidates will possess strong management, problem-solving and interpersonal skills; must be process-oriented with the ability to mentor and teach work force.  Supervisory experience in a union environment and experience with rigid frame haultrucks, wheel loaders and material processing equipment are preferred.
